This post is for my doll loving readers out there. I’ve done several photos of my blythe dolls, but in this post, I’ll just be showing you my favorite pics so far. I’ve played around with them a little bit in photoshop. I’ve also got a couple photos of my doll from 1995, who is a jewel rider. ^_^ I love her. She is the exact doll I had as a kid.
Anyway, so I hope you enjoy this blog post!
These first two pics are of little miss Goldie. She apparently loves Pop Rocks, Balloons, and Wiener Dogs! :3
I just want to take a moment and thank each and every person who reads my blog, watches my videos, listens to my music, or appreciates my artwork. THANK YOU! ^_^ From the bottom of my heart, THANK YOU SO MUCH! If you’re reading this right now, you mean a lot to me, and I want you to know that. Because of you, I get to write my heart out. I get to talk about the good times as well as the bad, and there is nothing that can replace that. No matter how long I go on hiatus and no matter what my URL is, the core group sticks with me on my journey. Hopefully this blog theme / template I’ve chosen will stick for a while. Hopefully my URL will finally stick for a while. I’ve gone from blogspot, to wordpress hosted, to self-hosted using wordpress…and I’ve changed URL’s even more times than that. In fact, I can’t recall how many times. I’m hoping this sticks……finally. Haha!
For the theme of this blog post, I want to talk about what I’ve been up to lately…I’ve been working on many things. First, I’ve finally gotten re-acquainted with Minecraft, and I’m loving it again. I doubt I could play it each and every day, but I’ve been playing several times a week, and it helps that I have lots of friends to play with me and help me find new ways to have fun in the game.
I play pranks…
In the screenshots above, I basically just confused everyone by flying as high as I could where they couldn’t see me. I got a chuckle out of it, as I looked down at their base like it was but a mere ant hill. Karma came back at me later, though, when someone released an Ender Dragon into the world, which destroyed my house. Lately we’ve been playing on a really fun survival server instead, which I LOVE. We found a beautiful biome, full of flowers, islands in the sky, waterfalls, and rivers.
And here’s a random pic I took of a creeper // zombie romance…I thought you all would love it. Kisses for the Creeper! XD
On to a completely different topic…
Apparently on Instagram, I am addicted to showing you guys / gals my shoes…I just realized the pattern today. I have especially mastered the “feet up on the dashboard” pose…
And I think I’ll leave you all with a very odd collage I just made. I call it “MaceyLou’s World.” I guess it represents those moments where I feel kinda weird and different from everyone else and I space out…this must be what the inside of my imagination looks like! :3 I also am guessing that me and my car race each other around a minecraft-type landscape, with a barbie house to go home to, under a strange but beautiful sky. Ah, yep, that’s what my head looks like inside it! Haha! ^__^
Well, that’s all for tonight. Goodnight, friends! Talk to you next time.
So I’ve put together a little DIY Tutorial for you. This Tutorial explains how to take wire-trimmed ribbon and create fairy wings for a doll. In this case, it’s for a blythe doll, but the concept can really care over to any doll I think! So first things first:
#1}…Take the wire-trimmed ribbon of your choice. I have many colors of this stuff from years of Christmas gifts. I planned to reuse them for my own gift-giving ventures, but I was needing to create some fairy wings for a blythe doll I was working on. I was wondering how I could possibly accomplish this. Then, I remembered this ribbon! First, you want to twist the ribbon to create a bit of a fairy wing-like point like shown below. Use the doll’s body that you are intending it for, so you can get an idea of the proportions that you want to achieve.
#2}…Next, do the same thing on the other end and create a twist in the center as well. This is where the body will lay on top of the wings.
#3}…Now do a small set for the bottom half of the wings. Your wings should look similar to the picture below (but, really the possiblities are endless and you can make many different styles of these, I’m sure.):
#4}…Now put the doll body on top to get an idea of what she might look like…
#5}…Now, what I did was I cut near the wire-trim edge of a spare piece of the ribbon, so that I could use the scraps to attach the top and the bottom of the wings together:
#6}…Now, you can take that piece of wire from the ribbon (it will be the same color as your ribbon, so it will match.) ^_^ Take that wire and twist it around the top and bottom wing pieces so they can be one piece:
#7}…Next, you will have excess wire hanging off the wings, so use this to your advantage and twist it in front of the waist of your doll like a belt. This will be how the wings stay put.
YAY! Now that’s what I’m talking about!! ^.^ Below you will see two different ways to wear the wings. The first one is with the belt hidden inside the dress. On the second example, the belt is on the outside and showing. I didn’t like the way the belt inside the dress looked. It changed the shape of her dress in an awkward way, so I decided to just go with the second look, keeping the belt shown:
I have a new youtube series coming up on my YouTube channel which will show you all my custom process for my dolls. I’m currently uploading Part One as we speak. My youtube name is “maceyloubrown” in case you wanted to check those videos out! Below are some photos showing some things I’ve worked on lately, some recorded in video and some not:
Below are some new shots of my studio. ^_^ It’s finally coming along nicely. I still have some cleaning//organizing to do, which you can’t see here because I am really good with the crop tool, lol, but soon I hope to have a fully functional and practical (as well as beautiful) studio! Hope you enjoy these photos!!
Below is a “Lomo” wall I created by taping some instagram photos together. To print my photos from my phone, I used an app called Kicksend. My photos didn’t make it to my house at first, but I contacted the app company and they resent them quick! AND the photos look AMAZING!! Love the quality of these. ^_^
Well, goodnight my lovelies! Talk to you soon! xoxo – MaceyLou
