Getting Back to Life

Hello,

my readers, if you’re still there…

Where-

I just got over the worst illness of my entire life, and I feel like I should write a little something about it. When you go through a huge life roadblock or a giant life change, it can really open your eyes. I have decided to change, at least as much as possible, for the better.

You know how you get used to your routine and it all seems safe and repetitive? Well, I’d say that sort of happened to me before I got sick. I was used to my routine and I had many stresses to overcome, but I did, day by day, overcome them–for the most part anyway. I get very stressed at work, and I get through it. I always worried about what people thought of me, and I still do. I worry what it will be like once I get back to work Monday after a week of being gone. I wonder how people will act toward me and whether or not it will feel the same. You know what I mean? I guess all I can do is live in the now.

It’s so hard for me to live in the now. I almost never really do it. I think about tomorrow, the next day, the next, and the next, worrying and worrying what will happen next. This is much too depressing. One shouldn’t live that way at all. Each moment should be lived and cherished, but that’s easier said than acted upon, isn’t it? We worry and worry. We try using a planner to “plan ahead”, but the scariest things in life, such as sickness and injury, can’t be planned out in a book. It can’t be foreseen at all.

So, because of all these thoughts that have been swimming in my head since I have been in bed most of the week, with nothing to do but worry, I have some new goals that I feel would be best mapped out on this blog, so I feel all the more determined to accomplish them.

———————

Goal Outline:

  1. Write more on this blog. It doesn’t matter what I write, as long as it’s all me and it’s accompanied with a visual element of some kind.
  2. Be more crafty and document/blog about the crafts I work on. {Pinterest projects could be fantastic!}
  3. Design more.
  4. Illustrate more.
  5. Finish my novel.
  6. Finish my script.
  7. Create a fresh video for my youtube channel at least once per week.
  8. Be more festive when it comes to the holidays and changing of the seasons and enjoy it all more.
  9. Be kind to everyone as much as possible.
  10. Enjoy life more and get lost in the little moments.
  11. Help others, whether it be with tutorials in video format, blog format, or just helping with chores with family members.
  12. Bake more//make more sweet treats, especially French macaroons.
  13. Write new articles for Paper Aquarium Magazine.
  14. Get more involved in our band’s music again. Jam more.

Well, that’s all of my goals for now in general. I hope to put a lot of this in action and show it to you here on my blog. Thanks so much for following me even though I have been away for quite a long time. I hope the holiday season will inspire me to blog more. I think it will because it usually does.

Wednesday & Thursday #4 {Hybrid Post} Pen Drawing & Thoughts

Hi My Lovelies,

Sorry I haven’t posted consistently lately, but I’ve been so lazy. I wish I was more motivated and inspired lately, but I think the energy drain is coming from my missing Leo {our cat}. We had to give him away recently and I miss him so much! I know there was really no way to keep him, but his little personality and his cute little face is missed sorely in our little home.

I haven’t updated my sketchbook {the one with the comic in it}, so instead I’m posting what I drew the other day just for fun. I drew it with a nice purple gel-ink pen. I love this pen that my lovely friend Toshia gave to me. :) Drawings below:

Let me know what you all think about missing a former pet!

Sketchbook Wednesday #2: Sadie’s Job

Hello My Lovelies,

Today is Sketchbook Wednesday once again. Last time I showed you a photo of the very first sketch page in my new sketchbook, which I hope to turn into a comic book. The first page was of a quaint little town that appeared sort of quiet, but with a lot going on.

Today’s page is page #2 and it’s introducing us to Sadie who works in the music store in downtown:

I hope you all enjoyed this week’s Sketchbook Wednesday! Have a great night, friends.

Thursday Thoughts #1: Thoughts on Movies & Drawings

Hello Lovelies,

So, I know this isn’t a sketchbook wednesday, but I also didn’t sketch in a sketchbook anyway. I sketched on printer paper and I did it with a crappy ballpoint pen. It’s all good, though, because I love how they turned out. I particularly love the cup with the ice. What inspired this sketch you ask? Well, I’m glad you asked…

Have you seen the commercial they play in the movie theater that shows the cup fill up with ice, then coke, and then they put the straw in it and all these bubbles are everywhere? (Wow, that was a horrible run-on sentence.) Anyway, so those amazingly spectacular visual effects inspired this drawing. I then played with color in photoshop.

Fun Fact: Last time I went to the movies, I saw Snow White & The Huntsman. It is now my new favorite film. I’m usually quite picky about movies, but this one was well-done.

Above is the sketch before colored.

Above is after the coloring. Instead of coke, mine is Dr. Pepper because it’s better than coke. Funny thing, though. I used to hate Dr. Pepper when I was younger, but now I love it most over other sodas.

Above is a sketch of just some girl. I started it at work while waiting to meet with someone for an assignment, since I was in her office space and not at my desk able to work. I didn’t have enough time to finish sketching her at work, though, so she was finished at home.

That’s it for Thursday Thoughts…
