My Shop is Finally Open!

Hi My Lovely Starfishies!!

My little storenvy shop is finally open and you can purchase away! I’ve got vampire stickers, pastel goth stickers, hipster stickers, and many more kawaii cute oozing with sugary sweetness, products! I tried my best to create characters that would be as diverse as the lovely people like you all that enjoy my artwork and other creations. ^_^ I’m already starting some new sketches for future sticker ideas, too. I have a couple dolls that are not available yet, but should be at some point. (Not sure when just yet.) I’m sorry. I know you all may have been waiting for the dolls, but the stickers are much easier to get ready for shipping and stocking into the shop as well as putting all of their information on the website.

SHEETS PIC2

As you can see, above I offer sticker sheets for your stationary needs. You can stick these on your letters to your pen pals, you can stick them on your favorite notebook or sketchbook, or simply save them as collectibles.

Also, my friend Jen Lawson helped me design the Rapunzel character and the red headed girl. She did a lovely job on Rapunzel’s hair, especially.

The other stickers especially made to be car decals. I have a couple of them on my car right now, actually, and they’ve been holding up awesomely! :)

SET 1___VAMP Girl___LARGE__pic1

Most of the car decals come with a premask you can see above and below. The premask helps aid you in applying the decal to your car window. All you have to do is pull the backing off the back of the sticker, stick it where you want it to be positioned, and pull of the top layer — the premask! Easy-peasy.

PREMASK PHOTO

Above you can see where the backing comes off easily when there’s a premask on the front. Then you can stick the back of the sticker directly where it needs to go, and pull the premask right off after that! :) I LOVE these!

Here are a few more examples of stickers in the shop currently, but there are several more! Better hurry before they sell out!!

SET 1___CAT Girl___MED__pic1 SET 1___HIPSTER Girl___MED__pic1 SET 1___Rapunzel Girl___LARGE___pic1

As you can see, a few do not have a premask. These are for people who would rather just have the backing only. Those are for people who either plan to never stick the sticker and just want it for collecting or if they are really good at placement without premask.

In other news, a few weeks ago I posted my Frequently Asked Questions video on YouTube. Check it out below if you would like to see it:

Thanks so much for watching and I hope you all have a lovely sweet day!! <3

Luck: Why It’s the Dirtiest Word in the English Language

LUCK FEATURED IMAGE

Hello, my lovely readers and friends…

Luck. It’s a word most of us, if not all of us, have used at some time or another. I’ve used it many times. In fact, I accidentally used a form of it just today in conversation. But what is “luck.” Is it something tangible or intangible? Does it exist at all? My opinion is that it doesn’t really exist. I know some will criticize and say, “How can you say luck doesn’t exist?!”

I think luck is just a sort of cop out. We never meant for it to be, really. We use it as a sort of treasured word, meaning we cherish it. We cherish the use of the word “luck” because it makes us feel like we can be lucky enough to win at this or that, to get a better job, to have a wonderful family, to have great friends, etc.

The truth is, “luck” isn’t the right word to describe any of that. Winning a game or some sort of lottery or something isn’t even luck. That’s called probability and statistics. All the others have more to do with hard work and the decisions we all have to make in life. I’m a firm believer in the fact that you have to strive to get what you want / need out of life. You have to make big decisions and you have to live with those decisions. Sometimes we make mistakes, but other times, we thrive in our own decisions.

My personal beliefs have gone through a sort of metamorphosis, but I still believe we must take advantage of good opportunities, big and small. Sometimes it’s truly scary. It can be nerve-racking to try new things, go places you’ve never gone, and meet new people. However, it is essential to progress in our own lives. We need to feed off our own experiences and grow from them. We need to meditate on the things we’ve gone through, the things we’ve seen, and the things that have broken us down. Sometimes we may feel like life throws us against the floor and harms us. Sometimes another person’s decision can have a negative impact on us. However, how we respond to it says a lot about us and can have a tremendous impact on our future.

Think about this for a moment. If I want to accomplish the goal of getting a new office desk, for instance, there are some dos and don’ts of accomplishing that goal. For one, I’ll need to have the money to buy the desk. Therefore, I’ll need to save up the money for the desk. Maybe I’ll make the decision to save $50 a week and set that amount aside for the desk fund, so to speak. If the desk costs $200, the wait to attain it would be about a month (or 4 weeks) time. If I need to get the desk faster, I would just try to save more per week. All this is to just paint a picture in your mind. There were logical steps that needed to be taken in order to buy the desk, and therefore accomplish that goal.

Where does luck fit in? It doesn’t. Let’s use another analogy. You want to get a job painting murals on walls of various establishments and restaurants. There are logical steps to reaching that goal as well. Sure, there are other ways of attaining goals sometimes, but there are also some very clear steps you can take, in most cases. For the mural-painting goal, I’d say maybe do some solid research about art, painting, and large-scale work. This will help a ton in this scenario. Once you’ve done your research and honed in on your technical skills of mural-painting (such as practicing on large canvases at home, and asking to do a free mural for a friend or family member), you should then look into the industry of mural-painting and see how to get into the business of doing it full time. Look online and at your library for specific sources that provide detailed steps. If you do it right and you have the passion and technical skill to boot, you should be able to enter the mural-painting business. It’s definitely not easy. Nothing that is worthwhile is easy. It takes hard work and patience.

Did you really read that last statement? It takes hard work and patience. There, I repeated it for you. Nowhere in there did I mention that it required any luck. Luck isn’t going to come to your rescue in any situation. Sure, coincidences can sometimes shape part of any situation as well as circumstances, people’s personalities, and many many other factors. However, luck isn’t any of those things. I think we often mix up the word “luck” and the word “coincidence.” Or even the word “luck” with the concept of probability.

Let’s say you enter the lottery. You buy a ticket. You win. You are not lucky. Luck had nothing to do with it. It happened like this. You bought the ticket. If you hadn’t bought it, you had no chance of winning at all. However, if you buy it, your chances are still very low, but you have some sort of chance. You are now in a group of people who are all trying to win. No one is “luckier” than anyone else. It’s a roll of a dice type of situation. Some will win and some will lose. Someone has to win. It’s part of the game. (There may even be multiple winners.) All it means is, all these names are in this hat, so to speak, and some are pulled from the hat to win (blindly), while others are not. It’s probability and statistics. It’s not luck. The more people who enter a lottery, the lower the chance each has to win (assuming they are drawing the same number of winners each time). In the same vein, the less people who buy a ticket, the more likely each person has to win.

Don’t blame bad luck for your mistakes. Stop making excuses. I know I’ve made my fair share. Life can be scary. It can be tough. All we can do is get up, dust ourselves off, and try harder this time. And don’t tell someone they are “lucky” to have the life they have. Chances are they have gone through similar struggles as you and maybe they have reached some tough to reach goals. Maybe they’ve cried, maybe they’ve gone broke, maybe they’ve lost hope, but bounced back and striven harder. Don’t say someone is lucky just because they have a more “successful” life and have worked their butts off to get there. It makes them feel like you don’t appreciate or even acknowledge their hard work.

Let’s take life by the horns and get where we want to go. It takes patience. It takes dedication. It is really hard to do, but I imagine it will all be worth it once our most treasured goals are reached.

Love you all,

xoxo

Why You Need The Sims 4 in Your Life {Sims 4 Review – Part 1}

Sims 4 review feature image

I want to start off by saying that I have been a Sims fan ever since The Sims 1 came out. I’ve loved all the crazy sim moments. It truly is one of my favorite game series of all time. Now I will proceed with this blog post which is only part one of the sims 4 blog post series I plan to do. I hope you enjoy. ^_^

Below is a pic of the “Candy” Residence. These are the first sims I made in The Sims 4. Their house is the first house I built in The Sims 4 as well. I’m not entirely happy with how it turned out. I’d like for there to be more detail / visual interest on the facade of the house, but I think it’s a decent mansion.

Sims 4 Candy Residence and Fam

Below is an up close shot of Ulta and Elli Candy. They are sisters who have decided to room together until they start their own families. The house was an inheritance, given to them by a late relative. Otherwise, they would have settled for something much smaller — more like an apartment. :)

Sims 4 Ulta and Elli CLOSEUP

Next up is the Philips residence, home of Jay and Leana Philips. Leana is a genius and Jay aspires to be a standup comedian.

Sims 4 Philips Residence and Fam

Sims 4 Philips fam CLOSEUP

Ironic thing is, Jay is a comedian…and his house was on a lot where many strange (and funny) things happened. First of all, they had some odd glitches in the kitchen, with weird fires that made no sense and with trying to fix a fridge only to be feet away from it…and here’s my personal favorite…

Sims 4 GLITCHES BE LIKE

The happy couple really did become one…just to walk up the stairs! XD I love how his skin is a little darker than hers and makes it look like she has facial hair. Do you see it? Tell me you see it! Anyway, this was GREAT! I love finding silly (not frustrating) glitches like this one. Makes. my. day.

Sims 4 MACEY image and neighbor

Above on the right is the sim version of me that my hubby made! If you know me in real life, you know I have mustard pants EXACTLY LIKE THAT! Spot on, Derek! The girl on the left is a REALLY AWESOME pre-made sim…wish I could take credit for making her…but I can’t. You know what the best part is?? She has the snob trait..and she totally looks like a hipster. I LOVE IT! Her glasses just MAKE the look. Ya know? :)

Then there’s this image…

Sims 4 MUH COOKIN SKILLZ

This is a pic of Vinita Noir, the girl who looks nothing like me, but has the EXACT same lack of cookin’ skillz! Had to make a meme of it. It’s great! This pretty little sim has a heart tattoo on her shoulder and star tattoos on her back. She’s the third household I made. And the only sim I’ve made so far that has tattoos. I just LOVE the hair! Also, she’s the only household I’ve created so far on sims 4 where I did NOT use cheats. Obviously I used cheats on the others to give them loads of money to build those giant houses, but not with this girl! I wanted at least one family / household that would be cheat-free from the very beginning. And you know what? I think she’s my favorite family to play so far. Her house is VERY small. Very basic. But it’s pastel friendly on the inside, so it’s unicorn worthy…right?! I think it’s an awesome tiny house. It only has 3 rooms: living / dining / kitchen (all in one), bedroom, and bathroom. It features a tiny porch and a cabin-like feel. I plan to add a forest of trees around it when she gets enough $$$.

Sims 4 Noir House FLOORPLAN

Below is Vinita Noir in front of her cabin-like exterior (unicorn pastel amaze-house interior) humble abode. And did I mention how much I love HER? She’s a curvacious beauty with cute retro shorts and bright teal hair. What’s not to love?

Sims 4 Noir Residence and Sim

It’s time to talk about an interesting feature that may or may not exist…but I’m thinking it does. I haven’t researched this FULLY just yet, but I THINK time in the sims 4 is standard for all sims, meaning if Vinita wants to go visit with her friends down the street, she can’t if they are currently at work. If I’m not mistaken (feel free to correct me if I am mistaken, really, I could be way off), I don’t remember this being a feature of sims 3 exactly…definitely not in 1 or 2 either, right? Or am I going crazy?! I feel like in 2, you just went to visit them and they were there…maybe…and same for sims 3, except sometimes in sims 3 they wouldn’t be home, but it seemed more random, like they were just randomly either home or not home. I could be way off on all of this, but it appears like sims 4 is more realistic in that the sims might actually be at work at fixed times, and your unemployed sim who visits during the other sim’s working hours will get no answer when knocking on the door…I am simultaneously excited and frustrated by this. I LOVE the realism of it, but I also got disappointed that she couldn’t visit with them. haha. Can’t have it both ways, MACEY! DUH! I know. I know. Let me know what you all think in the comments.

Sims 4 Vinita to visit Philips House

Create-A-Sim is SO SO SO much more fun and better than in the previous sims. This I most definitely have an opinion on. Just give it a go. You can click the part of the sim you want to edit. You can tweak the face, head, neck, arms, legs, stomach, sides, butt, chest, (LOL), EVERYTHING individually — and with a click on that part, as well as with a click and drag motion. It’s awesome! In previous sims games, you had to click on a menu item to get to the detailed editing. NO MORE! This feature is one of the best features in the game (that I’ve come across so far).

Another change, is the sims 4 is not exactly open world. Why did I word it that way, you ask? Because it is sort of open…what I mean is, on your little street that your sim lives on, you can have them walk around and discover things, down the street, a couple houses down, etc. HOWEVER, you cannot just walk around the whole “neighborhood” (bigger zone than the street your sim lives on). You must wait for loading screens to go to any other house (even on your street) as well. This means the street and the exterior lots of your sim’s street their house is on, is sort of an “open world” type area…but I guess the definition of “open world” is not just “open street”. Either way, I understand part of the logic with this. They probably did this to give us some openness yet not bog down the game as much. Yes, it’s annoying to go to the house next door and click “visit residence” and then have to wait on a loading screen, BUT the loading screen isn’t too long. And you have to admit, it’s cool that the sims aren’t completely limited to just their lot only. Also, the loading is understandable, considering the house interior needs to load, and you actually see furniture through the windows now instead of just an empty house. That’s an upgrade in my opinion.

You know what’s NOT an upgrade? There’s.no.pool. I was so sad when I was building one of these houses and I wanted it to have a pool in the backyard. No pool. However, I hear that they plan to create a FREE patch for pools. That makes up for it, I think. It’s not ideal, but it’s free at least.

One other complaint I have is when I was trying to take screenshots of my sims in front of their houses, it was more difficult than expected. Here’s why: there are SO many sims walking around on the sidewalks, and they LOVE stopping right in front of your sims houses and talking to each other (a lot of times not even talking to your sims). I’ve tried to find the “ask to leave” option and it’s nowhere…even if I try to “invite inside”. I think I tried inviting inside, so I could ask to leave. I could be wrong though. It’s hard to remember what exactly I did, but I think I tried that because I eventually became so desperate to get rid of some of these stupid auto sims, that I made them into an enemy. HAHA! Anyway, it’s not really a big deal, though, and I DO really like that there is so much availability for social interaction because of the loads of sims out and about. :)

So, I will leave you all with some FREE content! You can dowload my sims that I featured in this blog post today! I wanted to give you the ability to download the houses / lots as well, but I have not figured that out yet. I’m still a sims 4 noob. BUT I’m not a sims noob. :) I’m sure I’ll figure it out. Oh, that’s another thing I love! I love the community and how easy it was for me to make my sims available for download. Not sure why I couldn’t figure out how to do that same thing for the houses, but we’ll see if I can figure that out for next time.

Download my sims by following these steps:

1. Load into the sims 4 game.

2. Click the gallery icon (looks like photographs and is in the upper right hand corner of the screen).

3. Click “community” if you are not already there.

4. In the search bar in the upper right hand section, choose “origin ID” from the dropdown and type in “derekbrown700”. My husband’s username is the one on the account in case you were curious. Haha! Now you should see all 3 families that I’ve featured in this post! :) {See the screenshot below.} Unfortunately, like I said, not the houses. I will try to figure out how to do that soon!

Sims-Community-Screenshot

So far, I rate the sims 4 a 4.5 out of 5 stars. We’ll see if that rating shifts any.

It’s A Wonderful Dolly World

Hi My Lovely Friends,

This post is for my doll loving readers out there. I’ve done several photos of my blythe dolls, but in this post, I’ll just be showing you my favorite pics so far. I’ve played around with them a little bit in photoshop. I’ve also got a couple photos of my doll from 1995, who is a jewel rider. ^_^ I love her. She is the exact doll I had as a kid.

Anyway, so I hope you enjoy this blog post!

What Has MaceyLou Been Up To?

Hello My Lovely Friends!

I just want to take a moment and thank each and every person who reads my blog, watches my videos, listens to my music, or appreciates my artwork. THANK YOU! ^_^ From the bottom of my heart, THANK YOU SO MUCH! If you’re reading this right now, you mean a lot to me, and I want you to know that. Because of you, I get to write my heart out. I get to talk about the good times as well as the bad, and there is nothing that can replace that. No matter how long I go on hiatus and no matter what my URL is, the core group sticks with me on my journey. Hopefully this blog theme / template I’ve chosen will stick for a while. Hopefully my URL will finally stick for a while. I’ve gone from blogspot, to wordpress hosted, to self-hosted using wordpress…and I’ve changed URL’s even more times than that. In fact, I can’t recall how many times. I’m hoping this sticks……finally. Haha!

MaceyLouMintGreenKittySkin

For the theme of this blog post, I want to talk about what I’ve been up to lately…I’ve been working on many things. First, I’ve finally gotten re-acquainted with Minecraft, and I’m loving it again. I doubt I could play it each and every day, but I’ve been playing several times a week, and it helps that I have lots of friends to play with me and help me find new ways to have fun in the game.

I play pranks…

minecraft google hangout 2

minecraft google hangout 1

In the screenshots above, I basically just confused everyone by flying as high as I could where they couldn’t see me. I got a chuckle out of it, as I looked down at their base like it was but a mere ant hill. Karma came back at me later, though, when someone released an Ender Dragon into the world, which destroyed my house. Lately we’ve been playing on a really fun survival server instead, which I LOVE. We found a beautiful biome, full of flowers, islands in the sky, waterfalls, and rivers.

pretty biome

And here’s a random pic I took of a creeper // zombie romance…I thought you all would love it. Kisses for the Creeper! XD

romance slide

On to a completely different topic…

Apparently on Instagram, I am addicted to showing you guys / gals my shoes…I just realized the pattern today. I have especially mastered the “feet up on the dashboard” pose…

shoes comparison

And I think I’ll leave you all with a very odd collage I just made. I call it “MaceyLou’s World.” I guess it represents those moments where I feel kinda weird and different from everyone else and I space out…this must be what the inside of my imagination looks like! :3 I also am guessing that me and my car race each other around a minecraft-type landscape, with a barbie house to go home to, under a strange but beautiful sky. Ah, yep, that’s what my head looks like inside it! Haha! ^__^

Macey's World

Well, that’s all for tonight. Goodnight, friends! Talk to you next time.

Hugs,

MaceyLou

Jake Mooneyham the Musician

My In-Depth Musician Interview with Jake Mooneyham

Jake Mooneyham the Musician

Hello Readers!

I have a very special treat for you all today. I’ve done an in-depth interview with my brother, Jake Mooneyham, who is the artist behind Trapper Capper, as well as a band member of Monostatic and The Vintage Season. He’s given us an inside look at what it means to be a student, a musician, and a human trying to survive. This interview was really fun to conduct and he’s so very forthcoming about all he does in his day-to-day life and what it means to juggle work, school, and the art of trying to get into the music biz. I’d love to hear some feedback from you guys and gals, letting me know what you thought of the interview and maybe any insights you may have about the music industry in general. As always you can just leave a reply in the comments below. Thanks so much! Now, on to the interview!

Do you remember the first moment you decided you had a passion for creating music? “Probably when me and Zach were at Mom and Dad’s house and he had the Casio keyboard and he had his drum sounds loaded into the keyboard. I was playing an electric guitar, trying to come up with riffs and stuff like that. We actually ended up with a goofy little song. It was pretty cool, though, and insanely simple. Even that was enough to hook me. It was a lot of fun.”

What/who are your biggest influences in the industry? “You know one of them. Haha. Jack White, of course. His music is what made me interested in trying to make music in the first place. Before I listened to his work, I played around with teaching myself guitar, but never had a full direction I was going. Right now, I really like Tame Impala for their psychedelic rock, yet they are also sort of in the EDM realm now, with their infectious grooves.”

You’ve been going to school for music for a little over a month now. What is the biggest thing you’ve learned so far? “I think Einstein said, ‘As our circle of knowledge expands, so does the circumference of darkness surrounding it.‘ The more you learn, the more you realize you don’t know. Even though I’m hitting the ground running with theory, I still realize I am a fumbling amateur. The main thing I’ve learned is I still have far to go.”

What genre // type of music are you most interested in creating right now? “That’s tough to say. I’ve been asking myself the same question. This goes back to when that band asked me to open for them and canceled. When I thought I was going to play live, I had a plan of how I was going to perform, using live instrumentation and DJ equipment, too, so I could launch different bass lines on that while playing guitar at the same time (uses wild hand gestures). I think it would be a fusion of rock and the wild dance music that’s going on right now. I thought of working on a whole EDM thing, but at the same time I really like playing guitar. I would also like to take some vocal lessons, to get better at that as well. Playing with a band is so much more athletic, though, too, because you all sync up with each other and it is less lonely. It’s a tough call, and it’s still up in the air right now.”

Where can we find songs that you have had a part in creating? “There are three groups you would want to search for on bandcamp: The Vintage Season, Monostatic, and Trapper Capper. The Vintage Season, as my interviewer knows, is the band my brother-in-law, my sister, myself, and our friend Zach play in. Monostatic is just me and Zach, while Trapper Capper is me doing my own thing kind of in the genre of EDM, or maybe trance music. It’s mostly me experimenting and learning as I go. My song “You Live and You Lie”, I feel could be improved and I will probably re-record it, but that’s far off for now. I’d like to record it in less of a sample-based way. I’d really love to make sure I do a version that has mostly live instrumentation. Maybe if I meet up with someone at school or with you, Zach, or Derek. I just want to make sure I don’t just focus on painting music on a grid for that song. I just want to make that song with actual live instruments.”

How much time do you think you spend on music per week? “[goofy laugh] Counting class? Okay, take 168 hours in a week minus 30 (my work hours), so now we have 138. Minus that by 28 (which is 4 hrs x 7 days for how much I sleep), then I’ll roughly subtract some time for doing everyday tasks and keeping in touch with people via my cell phone…I’d say I spend about 70 hours a week on music, that’s including classes, music homework, and my own music exploration.”

What are your goals in the future as of right now for music and its roll in your life? “Well, there are ideal goals, and there are practical goals. There’s what I want to happen, and there is what I will do in the meantime to survive. So, I’ll be going to school for now to learn how to teach music theory to maybe high school kids or at a community college. Of course the IDEAL goal would be to be a working musician and making money creating music. With that, there are several different levels — from making commercial jingles all the way up to being a rock star.”

Have you made some valuable connections while in school? “I’ve gotten to know a couple people. I’ve met a guy named Bo. I watched him at the Guitar Center drum-off the other day, which was awesome, and he made it to the store finals. I’ll be watching that this coming Tuesday. There’s another student who is a really good guitarist. His name is Tanner. I don’t know him that well yet, but he is a really talented guy. I also thought about studying abroad. There are so many countries to choose from. And the school program would pay for half of it. I think my conductor for the guitar ensemble is going to Brazil. He’s a really cool guy. He’s a wild-eyed crazy music nut. I think he may have perfect pitch. He seems like he has his head wrapped around music really well, too.”

What advice would you give other aspiring musicians? [laughs] “Go to school? I think a lot of musicians fall into a self-constructed trap of saying, ‘I don’t need to learn how to read music.’ Take it from someone who is just now starting music classes at school. I know I am learning as I go, but I have already learned a lot being at this school. I think a lot of people are afraid that learning the official established music technique is going to take away their individuality or some stupid nonsense like that. You’ve got to learn from the greats to really get going, and there is nothing wrong with learning from others. In fact it’s important to do so.”

What improvements do you hope to make involving your different skill sets? “I want to know the letter name of the note I’m playing at all times. When you’re on a piano, it’s more automatic, because of how it’s laid out. I want that with a fret board like I do with a keyboard. I want to immediately know all the time. I want to get better at keyboard and singing. I would love if I could have absolute pitch some day. If I heard a tone, I’d love to be able to tell you exactly what pitch it is without a reference point. I don’t know if it’s something people just have, or if you just have to train yourself up to it. It would be so much easier to dictate music, though, if I had that skill. I also need to get better at sight-reading. I know how, but I’m still very very slow at the moment.”

In the past, you’ve been involved in making movies and short films. Do you still have a passion for that as well? “I’m really glad you asked that. I actually just wrote a paper about shooting a movie with Jeff, called The Compassionate, and how horrible the filming went. [laughs] But I LOVE movie-making and film. There’s so much emotion and you can create an entire moment, but it’s a HUGE project anytime you want to do a short film or anything like that. With music, you can do anything you want with pretty much no limit. Any musician can do WHATEVER they want on their own. With movies that’s not necessarily true in the same sense, unless you have skills in animation. I love movies and music-making, but movies are less feasible for me, and I do think I have a bit more of a passion for music anyway. Music affects me more than anything else. It effects me in a multitude of ways, and I love just picking it apart, in all of its pieces. I’ll play a song several times in a row just to listen to every little part, and study it. It’s cool because of all the senses that are specific, hearing is specific but abstract. Sound is all about these vibrations traveling through the air and all these different frequencies. It’s like magic.”

If so, what do you think you’ll do in the future to satisfy that passion of movie-making? “Music videos are always an option. When I create a song, I’m always like, ‘what could this look like.’ Music videos are fun, and a great way to make people pay attention to your music. It’s a way to get visual and to also advertise. I do like to also write scripts sometimes. I’d like to make movies. It would be in the future, when I had more time and money.”

Thanks so much, girls and guys, for reading my interview with Jake! I hope you all enjoyed it and maybe received some inspiration? :)

If that wasn’t enough, I’ve got some FREE SONG DOWNLOADS for you! Check out:

This first one by Monostatic is FREE and is a cover of a song written by Roky Erickson, originally performed by the 13th Floor Elevators. The second one by Trapper Capper [Jake Mooneyham] is free as well, but we would greatly appreciate your support of even just a small amount of money for the song. No obligation to pay for it by any means, but I’m sure he would greatly greatly appreciate it!

….-*DIY Fairy Blythe Wings Tutorial!! *-….

Hello My Lovely Friends!

So I’ve put together a little DIY Tutorial for you. This Tutorial explains how to take wire-trimmed ribbon and create fairy wings for a doll. In this case, it’s for a blythe doll, but the concept can really care over to any doll I think! So first things first:

#1}…Take the wire-trimmed ribbon of your choice. I have many colors of this stuff from years of Christmas gifts. I planned to reuse them for my own gift-giving ventures, but I was needing to create some fairy wings for a blythe doll I was working on. I was wondering how I could possibly accomplish this. Then, I remembered this ribbon! :) First, you want to twist the ribbon to create a bit of a fairy wing-like point like shown below. Use the doll’s body that you are intending it for, so you can get an idea of the proportions that you want to achieve.

photo 1

#2}…Next, do the same thing on the other end and create a twist in the center as well. This is where the body will lay on top of the wings.

photo 2

#3}…Now do a small set for the bottom half of the wings. Your wings should look similar to the picture below (but, really the possiblities are endless and you can make many different styles of these, I’m sure.):

photo 3

#4}…Now put the doll body on top to get an idea of what she might look like…

photo 1

#5}…Now, what I did was I cut near the wire-trim edge of a spare piece of the ribbon, so that I could use the scraps to attach the top and the bottom of the wings together:

 photo 2

#6}…Now, you can take that piece of wire from the ribbon (it will be the same color as your ribbon, so it will match.) ^_^ Take that wire and twist it around the top and bottom wing pieces so they can be one piece:

#7}…Next, you will have excess wire hanging off the wings, so use this to your advantage and twist it in front of the waist of your doll like a belt. :) This will be how the wings stay put.

YAY! Now that’s what I’m talking about!! ^.^ Below you will see two different ways to wear the wings. The first one is with the belt hidden inside the dress. On the second example, the belt is on the outside and showing. I didn’t like the way the belt inside the dress looked. It changed the shape of her dress in an awkward way, so I decided to just go with the second look, keeping the belt shown:

I have a new youtube series coming up on my YouTube channel which will show you all my custom process for my dolls. I’m currently uploading Part One as we speak. My youtube name is “maceyloubrown” in case you wanted to check those videos out! Below are some photos showing some things I’ve worked on lately, some recorded in video and some not:

Below are some new shots of my studio. ^_^ It’s finally coming along nicely. I still have some cleaning//organizing to do, which you can’t see here because I am really good with the crop tool, lol, but soon I hope to have a fully functional and practical (as well as beautiful) studio! Hope you enjoy these photos!! :)

Below is a “Lomo” wall I created by taping some instagram photos together. To print my photos from my phone, I used an app called Kicksend. My photos didn’t make it to my house at first, but I contacted the app company and they resent them quick! AND the photos look AMAZING!! Love the quality of these. ^_^

My New Work Station! :)

Hello Friends!
So I finally arranged my desk how I like it in my studio. And I started working on a new custom video series! I didn’t like how my first custom video turned out, even though I got a lot of positive feedback on it. So, I’m starting a new one…all showing the custom process of one doll. :) In the filming process, I learned that the lighting conditions were not good at my desk area. So, after filming part 1 (the NEW part one lol), I decided to turn my desk around, facing the opposite direction. And I got giddy!! I don’t know why, but my new work area is making me SUPER excited and motivated to work!! Enjoy the pics!
